What we do:
Motley Clue offers exciting Treasure Hunt Adventures that appeal
to both children and adults.
We strive to add excitement to the ordinary by using puzzles,
secret codes, invisible ink and hidden clues to help players reach
a common goal of unlocking an authentic Treasure Chest!
We deliver and set up everything you need to have a memorable
and exciting Birthday Party Treasure Hunt. We also provide a sealed
answer sheet for all the puzzles and challenges, so you're able
to participate in the hunt as well, knowing that you have the
answers should you need them. Who
we are:
My name is Dennis Putnam, and my love of Treasure Hunts started
back when I was 7 years old.
My grandmother, affectionately known as 'GranMama' was hosting
a sleepover for me and my three cousins (all boys between the
ages of 3 and 7) when she realized that she needed us to have
something to do outside the house!
While we were busy making a mess, GranMama walked over to her
bookshelf and pulled out our old family Bible. With an amazing
flair for the dramatic, she gasped as an old scrap of parchment
paper fell out from it's pages, fluttering onto the floor.
Her eyes grew wide and by now, she had our attention as she looked
at us and said, "I can't believe it's real !".
"What, GranMama?" we pleaded.
She picked up the fragile paper and unfolded it, revealing a beat
up, hand-drawn Treasure Map. From that moment on, I was hooked!
She spread it out upon the table and showed us what was on the
map, including a large red X in the corner!
Within minutes we were armed with shovels and sprinting across
the farm to get to the Treasure Spot. It took some digging (and
more than a few holes), but eventually we found what we were looking
for! It was an old tin coffee can, buried about 8 inches in the
ground. It held 4 dollar bills (one for each of us) and some toys
and trinkets.
It wasn't much, but I can still feel the excitement of that day
just thinking about it! Ever since that day, I've loved games
with clues, secrets, gadgets, puzzles and mystery.
Motley Clue Adventures is the humble beginning of my dream of
being able to bring immersive adventure, mystery and excitement
to others.
I've been creating and running different types of adventure treasure
hunts for my own children for years and years, finally deciding
to formalize it into Motley Clue Adventures, so I can share the
fun with everyone!
If you're looking for something unique and different for your
next party, whether it's a birthday party, road rally, Team Building
Event or even wedding rehearsal dinner, please give me a call.
I'd love the opportunity to turn your next party into a Treasure
Hunt that will be remembered forever. |
Our Puzzles and Clues:
Very few of our challenges are of the garden 'crossword puzzle'
variety. We're proud of the many different types of puzzles and
clues we provide. Our intention is for our players to use all
of their senses to think 'outside the box' in discovering the
solutions.
Our most popular challenges use props. A prop puzzle is simply
one that has some sort of physical quality associated with it...i.e.
something you can hold, look at, smell or even taste. These types
of puzzles get everyone involved in the fun, because they are
more tactile than mere paper and pencil puzzles. These challenges
give the opportunity for unique points of view and suggestions
from all the players based on how they perceive the props. |
Location:
We are located in Apex, North Carolina and because our Treasure
Hunts are customized and self-contained, we can ship them anywhere
in the continental United States. (If you're local to the Triangle
area of North Carolina, you can pick them up too!) We offer Treasure
Hunts for Adult and Children's birthdays, Road Rally Hunts, and
even Corporate Team Building Treasure Hunts. |
